Reflective Summary Statement
This
portfolio is an accumulation of my graduate studies in the
Masters of
Distance Education online program at the University of Maryland University
College. It also captures my professional experience as an Online
Learning Administrator and Online Teaching Faculty in the field of higher
at Northampton Community College. Since I've graduated from
UMUC, I've worked in the field of Distance education, both as an eLearning Specialist at Northampton Community College
and as the Assistant Director of Online Learning at Northampton Community College.
I also teach Psychology online and train online learning faculty in
various pedagogical principles for online instruction. This
portfolio captures some of my best work, including graduate work,
web designs, resources from the academic experts in the field of
Distance Education, and overall the context of my professional
work experience as in the field
of higher (and distance) education. Please refer to the links on the left hand side to explore

For five years
at Northampton Community College, I managed an ACT Center
which was part of a nationwide workforce development initiative that provided
online workforce development training to various constituents in our
region. All of our online training programs through the ACT
Center were pre-developed, content, from various publisher that we
used for non-credit, workforce development training. I also oversaw
the management of all Ed2Go faculty-led, training programs used for
Community Education. Our ACT Center was approved and launched,
under my leadership, as the first authorized ACT testing center in
the state of Pennsylvania and was recognized as one of the leading
online providers used for WEDnetPA training. WednetPA is the
Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania committed
to making companies across the Commonwealth more competitive by
updating and improving the skills of their

Resources &Services in Pennsylvania now include funding sources for
workforce development training online.
When I first started the ACT initiative, I was new to the
field of distance learning; however, since then I've advanced in my career
to oversee all credit-based, online teaching facutly, online

Summary Statement
My professional goal is to obtain a
position as a teaching faculty online and online learning
administrator utilizing my professional skills,
strengths and abilities in the field of distance and higher learning. I
currently work as an
Assistant
Director of Online Learning at Northampton Community College.
My job is to hire, schedule, train and supervise our online learning
faculty. I also

precious position I manage
at
Assistant Director of Business Training Resources, I
managed our ACT Center and
Ed2Go programs, which consisted of hundreds
of eLearning courses outsourced through a partnership with ACT Inc
and various publishers such as ElementK, SkillSoft and Coastal.
Our
ACT Center is part of a nationwide network of centers
located primarily at community colleges around the US,
and were established to assist community
colleges in delivering online workforce development skills in
various industry segments. Prior to this position, I worked in
student affairs providing student support and job placement
services to single parents and displaced homemakers.
The
OMDE program at UMUC has helped me secure both positions where I have been
privelaged to
blend both my professional and academic experience in developing
services online to support distance learners, corporate
learners, workplace learning professionals, and/or faculty
members.

Professional experience is in the field of distance training with an emphasis on strategic
planning and eLearning partnerships. Strong understanding of various online
platforms, learning management systems, and computer technologies related to
distance learning; actively involved in the field of distance
education, workforce development training, grand-funded resources,
and eLearning paradigms with a background in student
support services. Able to communicate with both
traditional and non-traditional students, in traditional as well as online
classroom environments, and with persons from various races, cultures, ages,
and professions. Recognized as an exceptional team player
with proven ability to research, organize, and upgrade academic,
educational, career and computer resources. Technical skills include web
design, online technologies, instructional design, learning management systems,
basic networking principles, html coding and
programming.
